What if the system was never built for someone like you?

Two weeks ago I stood on stage in Santa Fe—completely unplanned, unscripted. No notes. No agenda. Just presence.

And something happened. I didn’t speak to the room. I spoke with it. With the people in front of me. With a deeper part of myself.

At one point, I turned to someone and said:

“You need to remember that you are bigger than any organization, you’re bigger than any government, you’re bigger than any system. And you have a mission… you need to remember that, that you’re bigger than anything else.”

The whole room went still. Not awkward still. Truth landing still.

And here’s the thing—I didn’t say it as a nice thought. I said it from lived experience.

I’ve been inside systems that tried to tell me who I was allowed to be.

Medical systems that expected me to prepare for my son to die.

Corporate systems that rewarded burnout over brilliance.

Leadership systems that wanted certainty instead of intuition.

I didn’t buy it then. I don’t buy it now.

Here’s what I’ve come to believe:

We are not here to fit into systems.

We are here to evolve them.

Your insight, your knowing, your very presence—those aren’t optional. They are system-level interventions.

So the next time you feel yourself shrinking in the face of a title, a hierarchy, a boardroom that wants you smaller…

Ask yourself:

What if I’m bigger than this?

Because you are.

And the system knows it too.
