Stop Asking What’s Next - Start With What’s Here
Sep 02, 2025
This week I hosted a private conversation with six women.
We didn’t start with a framework or slides.
We started with agreements. Confidentiality. Presence. Truth. Without agreements, people bring silent expectations - and expectations always block the real conversation.
We dropped into our bodies. Three breaths. Shoulders softening. And then I shared what has been alive for me all summer:
The brain loves to ask, What’s next? But the more powerful question is What’s here?
Because when you keep asking “what’s next,” you don’t have to take full responsibility for this moment. It becomes an escape.
From that place, the conversation changed.
Here are some of the questions that moved us:
- What would it look like if you allowed joy to come?
- What are you not willing to radically let go of?
- What makes you the expert?
- What is the most honest version of yourself trying to say, but you’re not saying?
- What are you creating with your energy, instead of protecting it?
- Where is your deep trust in yourself?
- What decision are you not making?
Every single time, the story cracked open.
Worry became a system. Authority came from honesty. Protecting energy was keeping someone stuck. Brilliance was being softened with apology. Freedom was waiting on the other side of one avoided decision.
Different stories, same thread.
These are not comfortable questions. But they are the questions that change things. And I’ll ask you too, as you read this:
👉 What are you not willing to let go of?
👉 What decision are you avoiding?
👉 And if you stopped asking “what’s next” for a moment, what would you see that’s already here?
This is the work. Not quick fixes or more strategies. The courage to tell the truth about what’s really going on underneath.
This week’s conversation was full. I will host another this fall.
If this speaks to you, DM me. Tell me what you’ve been avoiding, and the clarity you most need right now.
I read all the messages with great care and presence.
Warmly,
Rita
PS: If you already know what that thing is, don’t hold it back. Bring it into a private conversation with me here. Clarity often begins the moment you name it.
PSS: If influence is the edge for you right now, read this. It could change everything
